The Culture and Identity Unit

This unit is concerned with research work pertaining to the culture and identity of the society in order to provide new generations with knowledge of the society ’s legacy and culture, and hence safeguard the identity and the cultural heritage of the society.


The Unit Objectives :

1. To conduct research work, in light of the society ’s culture, on the effects of the contemporary conflict between generations.

2. To conduct studies and research on cultural development among different social categories and the means of activating it through revealing the causes of abstention from participation in cultural activities, as well as to identify the inspiring motives for participation in those activities.

3. To pin down changes in patterns of identity and culture ( such as values, culinary, vesting and habitation…. )

4. To specify and assess the efforts made concerning the culture and heritage of Saudi Arabian society.

5. To conduct studies and research in history, civilization, archeology and historical documentation.

6. To expose sources of historical and geographical information by way of documents, archeological explorations and manuscripts.

7. To highlight the distinctiveness of the kingdom in conforming urban civilization to religious authenticity.
